Blogging Break

Hi Everyone, despite on what the card says, no happy things are happening in my life. I finally had my cataract surgery and the outcome is so so, thanks to a damaged retina. I see better than before, but not clear and this can not be corrected with glasses. It is what it is. Just hoping my right eye does not give up on me.... And then my dear mother died unexpectedly - she just stopped breathing. My older sister was with her.  At least she did not have to suffer. I am flying to Germany for her funeral, so I am taking a blogging break. So sorry, I won't be able to comment. I know you'll understand. I am playing in the current Pinsights challenge by Ellen Hudson. Although I was tempted to go with the pink ombre inspiration I in the end choose the Pantonte color picture - not that I am such a fan of soft colors, but this is supposed to be a challenge, right?! And I actually managed to stay soft and I do like the outcome. Don't worry, I'll go back to m

Happy 24th Birthday!

Hi Everyone, my daughter had her 24th birthday a few days ago - where did the time go??? She recently got herself a cat, so now she is getting cat cards from me.... I took my inspiration from this month Waffle Flower challenge - and I have their super cute stamp set, which has a cat and a dog. As extra challenge for me I decided to combine all their options - technique, colors and sketch and that's what came out of it: A one layer card. Sponged, masked and did some inlaid die cutting with those fun Avery Elle balloon numbers. Added glossy accents to them and googly eyes to the cat. Here are some pictures of my daughter from her baby years: And here she is now: Also linking up with: The Paper Players - up, up and away Mod Squad challenge - animal Happy Stamping!

A Birthday Card for several Challenges

Hi Everyone, I made a birthday card, inspired by several challenges - they are all listed below. The colorful panel I made with watercolors and rubber cement, as the talented Lexi Daly show us in a wonderful video on this week Make it Monday over at Papertrey. I brushed on the rubber cement. the birthday is by Papertrey as well, heat embossed and fuzzy cut. The tiny hearts are a punch by Fiskars. the subtle stripes on the background are an embossing plate also by Papertrey . I love those colors - took them from the current Card Concept! Joy Clair - Just Kitten

Hi Everyone, today I am showing you two card with what might be my favorite set from the Joy Clair February release - Just Kitten. That little kitten just makes me smile! I colored it with Copics, fuzzy cut it and mounted it with foam tape. Sponged the background circle and added a torn strip of wood grain paper. Now this is one feisty little cat: I set it in scene with some background stenciling using distress inks and colored it with Copics. Added glossy accents to the snout. And of course I fuzzy cut it and mounted it with foam tape. Don't forget our  February challenge  you have a few more days to link up. Play with us and get a chance to win your favorite stamp set. Memory Box - Pink

Hi Everyone, I have to sneak in a card for this month Memory Box challenge , before it closes...The topic is pink. Here is my pink card: I used the Honeyblossom sprig die to make this card - die cut in fun foam, stamped, heat embossed, stamped with distress ink, let it dry and sponged. A little strip of PP and I die cut the Memory Box THANKS with black glitter paper and added a gem.  I first didn't like it that much, thought it is too busy, but its growing on me. In fact I start to really like it! ----X---- And now I want to share a wonderful picture I got from my blogging friend Gundi from Papierelle . She started to use encaustic and the result is amazing! She raffled off one of her creation and I was the lucky winner! I just LOVE this! Have to find a frame and then it will get a permanent  spot in my house! She also made that beautiful card to accompany the picture! Pure gorgeousness! If you don't know her blog you have t
